That was the title of a facebook live event hosted by well known author, speaker and restaurant visionary Marcus Guiliano who owns the first green certified Restaurant in the hudson valley called Aroma Thyme Bistro. We ran into Marcus as he was walking out to catch his flight after speaking at an Event. Our brief conversation centered around the quality of paper straws in the US and the growing movement to use environmentally sustainable products in the hospitality industry.

Unbeknownst to us Marcus decided to do his own research on the quality of paper straws, buying and comparing various straws in the market including ours. We were surprised and elated when he decided to interview us for his segment on paper straw quality. Below is the video of Marcus and husband and co-founder Ulysses

Though the interview focuses on the 3-MCPD and MOAH/MOSH certifications, we ask that consumers and business owners do their due diligence in finding out about the source of the paper, glue and ink that the various vendors/manufactures use. We understand that there is always a cheaper alternative specially on amazon and other large retailers. Due to the unregulated nature of this industry in the US, consumers need to be extra vigilant and make sure that the businesses not only look at the price but also the quality of the product.

Finally though please say no to paper straws in plastic bags :)
